I'm guessing you haven't been around smash for very long? The melee community has constantly made fun of brawl and smash 4 for not being the game that they wanted. Do you not know what happened at apex?

Kind of, we all agree the game melee itself is amazing. However if they aren't going to stop being assholes then we are going to make sure their game is universally hated by others. We already got the FGC partially on our side after talking to many of them since they have dealt with similar problems. Late in brawl's years, the FGC supported brawl when the melee community put it down hard because it wasnt the melee 2.0 they wanted.

I've talked to many smash 4 players and we all agree a separation is inevitable. Evo will be the biggest push for this because we all know melee will try and put down smash 4 at the event. However the FGC is actually on our side at EVO and if melee players try to pull what they pulled at apex then we will gladly boo their game as well.

Finally I need you to understand an important concept. Games in general DO NOT get a long very well. When you look at league/dota/csgo you notice that their games are for the most part separated. They all host their world finals at their own times and their own venues. Imagine if dota2 and league had to host their world final events at the same venue, at the same time, on the same stream, there would be a bigger shit fest than melee vs brawl/smash4. Why are we forcing these two games to play together when none of them want anything to do with each other?
