Tracing artistic lineage in film

Thanks for doing this. I just rewatched Grand Budapest Hotel with the wife last night and so took the opportunity to plug that in to your app (service? Search engine? Database?). The result was a long list of stuff that I only had an inkling of when I watched the film. I felt it did a good job of enriching my background knowledge while suggesting a few films that I might go look for now.

One thing I wonder about, is how much of a "recency bias" is built into your system, given the recency of much of the online material that is your source here. There are relatively fewer reviews to be found year-by-year going backwards, and I would think that would be reflected in the results that are returned here. Grand Budapest Hotel might even be exceptional in this regard, since so much of the source material is so old. Also, I wonder if there is also some sort of "linguistic bias" built in here as well, since so much is English language based. So, if I were to search on a Bollywood film like, say, Ghajini which so obviously rips off Memento, The Matrix, Amelie, and so many others, is it going to reflect that ?
