Trump's election has undermined political correctness -- that's a huge problem.

What people on the right don't get about most of us who like "PC" is that it isn't speech suppression, its the principal of A) realizing your words have power, if you're saying something that is directly against a group of people think twice and B) there are repercussions for your speech, private citizens can and will take offense to comments and hold them against you.

These are principles that help with a equal society. The government can't penalize you for calling someone else a n*r or a f*t but your fellow citizens can. This has lead to pretty peaceful period in American history because there's social and economic (via boycotts) repercussions for bigotry. If this starts to break down people are going to be looking for other repercussions and that's where things get scary.

The right loves to talk about the "radical" left but that hasn't been a thing since the 50s and 60s, but if things keep moving in this direction it will be a thing again. I don't want shops getting smashed and police stations getting bombed but if people on the right start using the racist rhetoric they apparently love so much openly I won't be surprised if groups akin to the radical left of yore reemerge.
