Is it reasonable to discuss this business from that point of view?
Do you mean from a political point of view? In other words, would that point of view be the US ambassador in Israel? Of course he couldn't do such a thing without a coordinated world movement against zionism with the help of media and public consent. A bit like what's happening now, but in the opposite direction. Or else he would just be ostracized and banished to hell for all eternity where the goyim rot.
It's actually a good question though, what is holding the US and some European countries this hard? What really are the issues at stake here?
From a theological point of view, you could go as far as to argue that Judaism is a huge issue at stake. Not because it's supposedly threatened by the very same people that actually happily sold the land to the european jews (before noticing those lands were getting forbidden to Arabs, and people were losing their only jobs which was agriculture), but because Israel in it's core is anti judaic. The reasons for this fact are there, we can debate if you want, i don't want to sound like a double-douche lecturing you that's all.
