UFC 214 Embedded: Vlog Series - Episode 1

It's weird to me because...

  1. I feel like it's odd for the more aggressive of the two trash talkers (EASILY jon) to get genuinely angry / offended at trash talk... And like, need reassurance.

  2. Good, you're Jon's training partner, why are you talking shit about DC though. I don't like when other guys in fighter's camps that couldn't touch a dude are talking shit. It just doesn't feel right to me.

  3. While it was on the embedded cameras, this was like off camera trash talk. To me that really makes me question how much Jon is actually apprehensive about the fight. Not in a "Oh i'm so excited and nervous to come back." But in a legitimate like "I don't know if I'm going to win." way...

Like I really get the vibe that Jon Jones knows DC is the real champ right now. It's hard to make the "I'm the real champ" When DC has actually cleared out the top light heavyweights aside from you and you haven't been able to fight.

I'll give you 'paper champ' just a tiny bit? Just a little little bit, after the first Rumble / DC fight. Even then, he beat the best guy in the division that was allowed to fight, give him credit. But then he beat Gustaffson, then he beat Gustaffson, then he beat rumble again. The silva fight was a win but, it sorta doesn't count just because of weight. DC had around 35 pounds weight advantage on Silva, what can you do?

And then also I worry about guys that are only hearing "YOU WILL FUCKING ANNIHILATE THIS DUDE!"

Because if DC suddenly starts landing, what's your plan? What if DC just gets in top control or side control / side mount and ground and pounds?

I feel like DC is the guy where if he's in those positions he's thinking about getting out, fighting back, driving through it, if Jon's in those positions I wonder if he's mentally able to get through a fight if he loses rounds early.

Also personally I do think Jon was using steroids for a lot of his career. I wonder if he still does use them and try to hide from USADA, or if a lot of his nerves are possibly due to him being off of them.

Just in watching the OSP fight, I think he was clean then, and despite the win he just didn't look good.
