What is so profitable about war? I thought the bulk of our spending/debt was military related.

YOU dont profit from war. But people like Dick Cheney- who have stakes in private defence companies like Haliburton-do. Private defence companies (read:mercanaries) like Blackwater, Haliburton...arms manufacturers like BAE systems and General Dynamics... aircraft and weaponsmakers like Boeing and Lockheed Martin...all of these companies and more, made billions off of the Iraq War. Yes, you lost; it was your taxpayer dollar that went into their pockets in order to "carry out" this war. But they profited. And what did and do they do with all these profits? Lobby to make sure more warhawks stay in Congress so they can keep making money.
