User explains why stealing someone else's artwork is bad.

It's a VERY bad example. If the person never "stole" that owl artwork, and then used their expertise to actually make it marketable then it would have continued sitting and doing nothing in obscurity forever. The "thief" added HUGE value, that the "artist" would have never added to the final product. You can tell just how much value they added by the difference in sales from before and after they made their modification. This is why copyrights should be HUGELY limited, it prevents the "creators" from just sitting on shit forever adding nothing to society when people that can actually put it to use to better mankind are left unable to do so. In this particular case the Owl guy is no better than your average patent troll, just waiting for someone to use the art in a better way he would had never conceived so that he can sue them, rather than putting any effort into actually making his work marketable. That same owl guy drew inspiration from countless pieces of similar art that came before, effectively making him just as much of a violator as the the guy that made it successful, but for some reason HE is the one that deserves credit? Standing on the shoulders of giants, and calling yourself tall.
