User on /r/watchpeopledie makes post complaining about Islamophobia on the sub, other users attack him for being Swedish

I'm very familiar with Kurdish and Iranians society, friendo.

Kurds are very Muslim.

True, but ISIS still fights and kills to impose an Islamic theocracy. It's like pointing out enlightened Christians who supported Hypatia to say that no Christian thugs wanted her dead.

And name me one thing ISIS does that Muhammed didn't.

And the Iranian revolution happened in direct reaction to U.S. involvement in the politics

Was not and Iranian society is more complex than "durr, Murica made them do everything". Shah's corruption and talent for alienating every group did far more than the US. Yes, they put him in, but blaming just America is simplistic.

Also, the Islamists lied and said there wouldn't be religious rules if they got power and people fell for that. Never trust fanatics. Once the seized power, they out-maneuvered and killed/imprisoned/exiled all non-Islamist political groups. The Iraq war gave the Islamists the ability to unite the populace behind them in the name of nationalism and repulsing the invaders. After 8 years of political subjugation and nationalist propaganda, there was literally no other viable option for people.

You have a fundamental lack of understanding of these faiths, the people, and the history. Blaming the religion is completely useless

I never said Islam is the only cause, you inferred that.

Blaming the religion is completely useless

It has not helped at all. Islam's good parts doesn't need Islam and is balanced by it's shit. Islam is over-represented in terrorism, theocracy and general violence in 2015. It's a shitty ethical system based on lies, spread by violence and does nothing to improve society. When societies become more educated, prosperous and peaceful people leave religion. The most religious places are the most oppressive, violent, uneducated and poor.

Funny how that works.
