Veganism: Yay or Nay

Why should I not be vegan

There's no reason not to be vegan

Now, why is it okay not to be a vegan?

The reality of nature is that certain animals prey on others. It has always been the case and will always be, even if the whole population of earth became vegan. What I have a problem with isn't killing animals for food or clothing (hell a fast and clean death might be better than slowly dying of old age and disease), it's more the conditions at which these animals are kept before they are killed. It's the long term mistreatment of animals that I'm against. I know that I'm contributing to said mistreatment by eating Mc Donalds and drinking milk, and to be honest I couldn't care less. Our brains aren't wired to care about the wellbeing of other species. I wouldn't blame a person for eating a bigmac the same way I wouldn't blame a bear for devouring a hiker. We value our comfort and well being more than we value the comfort and well being of other species and that's fair. I know it's shitty and selfish but we are naturally wired to act shitty and selfish. If it wasn't for that we wouldn't have survived.
