Video Games Are Destroying the People Who Make Them

This could have been the real Gamergate: for gamers to say no to crunching which could arguably be the biggest reason as to why so many good devs leave a company whose IPs were good because of that dev/those devs. Or they just straight up leave the industry entirely. Why are there so many hyped games not living up to standards set in reveal trailers? You can bet your ass that it's because of crunching.

When your shitty boss is forcing you to cut out basic human social needs in order to finish a fucking game that you've already put enough time into (because games nowadays are being developed over the course of multiple years), you don't give a fuck if it's not perfect, just make it good enough so it gets past QA or whatever the fuck is used to verify the game is up to standards. It's like when you're doing a school assignment that's big as fuck and there's not enough time to do it, so you rush the thing and take a fucking gamble on whether or not it's good enough for a high grade. Fuck Crunching, Get Game Devs Unions, or else we gotta Collectivize the Entire Videogame Industry if that means devs can be finally treated like people.

And it shouldn't even be Gamergate just so Devs can be treated like humans, but to also to end the vampire squid practices that the corporate management use. This is the shit like Microtransactions, and DLC en masse (although the Microtransactions are sort of justified for games that had no price to begin with). But nah, it just had to be about the supposed "deep" feminist infiltration in videogames and whatever fucking ethics for game journalists that the chuds made up. This sucks because I play plenty of the big name Western titles and will pick them up no matter what at some point, but I'll always know that these are made in the worst conditions yet this isn't the time where a movement in the industry is happening that could be potentially hijacked. Just imagine if 2014 GG was happening in 2017, I bet it could be hijacked to some degree with the big boom of the Online Left. Crunching and the other bullshit is really pushing me to torrenting tbh.
