I’d say it’s probably like this.

Roosterteeth is sort of a dream job yeah? You start as a fan, so the unpaid internship, and finally land a job there. You start working, and it’s shitty, but you think “it’s just because I’m new. Once I’ve been here awhile it will change”.

And then it doesn’t. So you think switching departments will make it better. And it doesn’t.

By the time you’re disillusioned enough to leave, you’re a transwoman living in Texas. That makes it hard to find another job. As do the long hours for your current job. The low pay means you can’t just quit and live off of your saving while job hunting, or move to another state with a decent sized entertainment industry.

So you deal with it, knowing that it won’t get better, but that you don’t really have any other real options either.
