Waiting for season 7 of GoT to finish before jumping into it

This depends on how much time you spend on the internet, hang out with friends who watch the show, or watch any shows that talk about pop culture (late night talk shows or any sitcoms for example), you never know even the news might cover a story if something crazy happens or if you follow entertainment news of any sort- even in passing. Like checking out r/television you could inadvertently see something, or if you are on Twitter you might see something trending.

Basically if you live under a rock you can do it. I have no idea how much coverage there was about GOT in the media world before Season 5. I didn't watch any of the show 'live' until Season 3. But even then, I would not watch a show right away- I'd watch it later in the week at a friends because I didn't have HBO. I would never ever see/hear anything because I never watched any other TV, I never heard about the show until Season 3 was airing so even if I heard someone talk about it I didn't know what was being discussed. (one example- in 30 ROCK, Dotcom says "Ned Stark is dead" and I had no idea what he meant and it wasn't a 'spoiler' because I didn't remember when I watched the show for the first time- but you never know when a TV show will reference GOT since now it's immensely popular). But I was someone who basically lived under a rock but I also think there might have been less hype all over the internet even just a few years ago. (I might be wrong about that but I wouldn't know).

I don't think there's anything wrong with this approach if you don't watch any other TV or social media and I'm not saying that in a mocking way. Being on r/television is pretty niche but you can probably find it within yourself to avoid this sub for 2 months. Remember it's only 7 episodes :( this season so you won't be sacrificing much by avoiding things for 7 weeks.
