Totally fair, I appreciate the dissenting voice. Maybe in like 15 years I'll be disgusted that I ever thought it was okay to do, hah.

Seeing your stat made me double check things myself — it looks like that 2 years thing is if it's in a cold, mountainous climate. I think /u/flyinfinni talked about his own climate (the southwest desert of the US), which experiences similar issues as the arid climate inhibits the breakdown process. Both environments are things I'm aware of and would follow a carry in/carry out procedure for, but in a warm, humid climate like the NE is right now, stuff breaks down pretty damn fast. Either way, definitely gonna stop tossing them in the winter at least.
