Weekly What Car Should I Buy Megathread

Location: Northern KY or Louisville, KY Price range: $0-10000 (approximately) New or used: Used Type of vehicle: Somewhat sporty sedan or hatchback (hatchback is preferred unless it's a very good looking sedan) Must haves: Good fuel economy (mid 20s average mpg is what I'll be looking for at the least), manual transmission, somewhat reliable so I'm not dropping a lot of money for repairs Intended use: Daily driver Vehicles you've already considered: Mazda Speed3, Volvo S60R, Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged, Subaru Impreza WRX, BMW E36 M3 Is this your first vehicle: No, this will be my second. Does the vehicle need to have a warranty: Honestly, I'm not sure. Can you do minor work on your vehicle: Yes Can you do major work on your vehicle: No Additional Notes: Right now, I drive a 2007 Buick Rendezvous, and I don't really enjoy it. It's a slow and boring, yet comfortable car to drive. In the spring I will really be looking for a different car, one that's more fun to drive than my Buick, one that has better fuel economy, and especially one that has a manual. I'd like to get something that is fairly reliable because I can't do major repairs on my car, and I'd rather not pay a huge amount of money for that. I will need a car that isn't too small because I am a college student and I have to carry things around.
