I started this because people generally treat the Browns (myself included) as the losers of the league with the Jags a close second. Having been a Houston Oiler fan since I was a wee tike in the 70's I know the pain of loving losers. When I considered it in my head I bet myself that the Houston fanbase has suffered just a much as any other over time. I figured that this was a so-called "recency bias" as each team has had successes with stretches of futility.

RULES I started with Houston vs. Cleveland but expanded it to include the other two fanbases that have never seen their team get to the Suber Powl, Detroit and Jacksonville.

I took each team's seasons since 1970 (no real reason) and looked at their performance in a few different ways. I know Jacksonville only has 20 seasons compared to the 40+ of the others and that does skew things a bit. I also know that the Oilers are now in Tenn and the Texans are a whole other franchise. To a fan of the Oilers that switched to the Texans this means nothing. We rooted for the Oilers until they left and now we root for the Texans.

Some of what I found surprised me, like Jacksonville is the most patient with coaches, giving them a full year more than the others.
