@RiotLyte: "PSA: If you troll and play a position you were NOT assigned in New Champ Select often, you'll be banned"

Riot hammers pick order into us for half a decade. They decide to play science experiment and now we must completely do something else that is pretty much random? Not sure how fair this is. Toxic players will be toxic regardless and unless this magic system can somehow make mechanical arms go through their monitors and restrain them and force them to pick their assigned role - nothing will change.

Pick order was random but the difference is at least people had communication. I know I've been first pick and some guy who has trolled my champ select two times in a row (making two poor souls dodge in a row) somehow gets into my champ select again. I just say fuck it, pick a support and say he can jungle. That's obviously the negative spectrum and does not promote positive communication.

Sometimes a guy will say, "Jungle highly pref but will play whatever is needed," and I'll let him jungle because he was cool about it, this is obviously the positive spectrum. This promotes positive communication and begins to form some kind of team bonding whereas people flaming and raging in CHAMP SELECT creates animosity, tilt and just a bunch of negativity.

This new system is essentially saying, "Fuck any attempt at communication and selecting roles in an orderly fashion. You guys have proven you can't do it (despite supposedly only .000000001% of the player base being toxic) so you will play this role and that's it because your Father Riot says so." Some middle ground has to be found but one thing is for sure: this process needs to be sped up and refined. Maybe they can introduce a role trading option similar to trading champs in Aram.
