What are some changes in society that occurred in your early years that the bulk of your generation mostly agreed were good, but the bulk of your parents' generation were either indecisive or agreed were unfavorable changes? (See description for example of what I mean)

Being pro-socialism, or anti-capitalism. When I was young you simply didn't dare speak up about the positives of socialism or the problems with capitalism. These days it's very different, and I see a lot of young people bashing capitalism and praising socialism without even knowing how to properly define them.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that they don't have some good points; it just seems like it's "cool" to be that way now even if you don't have a full grasp of the concepts. I suspect this reflects a rejection of the "boomer" mentality, McCarthyism, and the "Communist panic" zeitgeist.

Personally I'm against all "isms," but I think that they both have their merits, as well as their flaws. I just think reality is too complex to rely on any "ism" to fix our problems and run society. I'm more of "a little column A, and a little column B" kind of guy. I describe my sociopolitical stance as "cafeteria."
