In the past 2 weeks I had to block over 100 people (or bots?) because the spam was getting overwhelming. Countless people and bots were sending me chat requests on top of all of this. I have never had to use that Reddit feature after being here since 2015. Someone had to say something.
Names are crossed out to comply with Reddit's witch hunting rules.
This is just a few of the posts I managed to screenshot.
Auto Moderator nukes most of these from getting through meaning that you may not see a lot of these, but you still get notifications from people sending gorilla emojis, rockets and moons, we like the stock, and "$1000 isn't a meme.", and various shilling spam.
Auto Moderator is set to block people with low karma and low account age.
Some of these posts and accounts however, gets through from accounts that somehow resurrect from the dead. These accounts are brought back from being inactive for years and suddenly start to spam the subreddit presumably for an agenda or for money.
The worst part is a lot of these get upvoted and even awarded and new people who don't know any better get pumped by this. Few of the posts included in the pictures above were awarded with small awards. One of the posts included in my pictures was actually awarded with Reddit Gold.

This doesn't mean report opinions you disagree with.
The Moderating team here are working day and night to help the 6.5 million new members in the last 2 weeks settle in. Don't make their job any harder than it has to be.
Do your part in squashing these bots for good so they don't cause problems for the community later on.
New people, be careful who you take your advice from.
They could easily be a bot or a shill.
