What book changed your life?

The Giver

I was already an avid reader but was sheltered quite a bit. That book kicked my childhood right out of me and branched me out into life’s patterns and history. It’s even more relevant to our world today by how much we are bombarded by half truths or propaganda, we need to see the unfiltered reality to form our opinions.

That same year we also read My Brother Sam Is Dead, so that obviously did not help my natural doomer instincts. All these years later I’m still angry when I think of that book.

I made a custom headstone and memorial speech for Sam for our final report and got a ++ in Elementary school because of how angry and sad I was. Just bullshit how unfair this world is.
