What did you do as a kid that formed bad habits as an adult?

I'm replying to you hoping to get some better exposure. Consider dental tourism. My teeth were fucked by my late 20's and I didn't have the 22k to fix them that my dentist quoted me. Everyday as my teeth crumbled so to did my self confidence and self esteem. When it got to the point I could barely eat normal food I finally decided to do something about it. I heard an NPR article about Los Algodones, Mexico which is a border town just outside where Arizona and California meet that is home to literally hundreds of dentist that make a living off America's failed dental systems by charging a fraction of the price US dentists do. (Old people have been driving their Tv's down for a long time now) So I went just to give it a shot because it was that or start pulling teeth. It was okay, I got some needed work done and saved my worst teeth. Unfortunately I wasn't super stoked with the cosmetics of the work. Further research lead me to Bangkok, Thailand which has an outstanding dental care system, in large part because the late king pushed for it in order to bring Thailand into the new age. I'm actually writing this from the Beijing airport waiting on a plane to take me home and for the first time in years I'm not ashamed to smile. Best of all, even with all the travel expenses it's come in under half of what my American dentist quoted me. I still have work that needs to be done, but knowing that I'm on the path has made a lot of difference.

I know it may sound crazy to fly half way around the world to get dental work done, and for many it sounds unachievable. I'd just say it's not, I'll be spending Christmas in the airport because that's when I found the cheapest airfare and I'll be paying off my credit cards for a while but god dammit my mouth was worth the effort and investment.
