He was a veteran with PTSD, so it’s really sad to see what happened to him. Anyway, we had a big group of neighborhood kids and we were always told by our parents to avoid going by his house. He was single and lived alone, his yard was always overgrown and he had an RV in his driveway. One day the SWAT team was in our yards, front and back and surrounding the neighborhood. We were shocked, why would this be happening. Apparently the “crazy” neighbor went on a shooting rampage in his home and after a few hours, preventing us all from going to school or work, they got him to surrender. I’m glad that they didn’t end up hurting him because he’d obviously been thru so much. But a few weeks later he was home and we never really heard anything from him after that. He lived there quietly and no more events. Still with the same yard etc. I wish one of our parents or other neighbors would have mowed his yard or reached out to help. I’m sure they did and he was the kind of guy to refuse help.
