What evil prank have you pulled off?

I'm a little late to this party, but this is one I will always regret.

So this takes a bit of set up but back in high school I had this Spanish class teacher who was a genuinely kind hearted and nice guy. He was also the water polo coach and had a beautiful wife and if I remember correctly 6 lovely children.

I, on the other hand, was a bit of a handful as a teenager. In spite of being such a prick, this teacher always treated me and my friends well and I will never understand why. My buddy threw a potted plant the teacher had on his desk through a window, we planted lunch meat in the air vents before a long weekend and then staged a walkout due to the smell, and even lit our friends pants on fire on his desk once, and that's just the start. But none of that compared to the damage we did one afternoon when he left for a weekend away for a water polo game.

This was in the days before cell phones were in every persons pocket, so my friends and I decided to prank our teacher by using the pay phone across the street from our school to call his wife, knowing she wouldn't be able to contact her husband for 2-3 days. I don't remember who, but one of us had the bright idea to call and pretend to be a sheriff to say he had been arrested. Well I decided to go a little improv and tell his wife there had been a bus crash and her husband didn't survive.

I can still remember hearing the kids crying on the line as he hung up after she told them their dad wasn't coming home.

He did eventually return home, and to school. He starred us straight in the eyes as he told the whole class the story. He knew it was us but couldn't do anything about it. That look was terrifying.

I understand he's the principal at the school these days, but has never been the same. From that day on he wasn't kind hearted or nice. He was brutal and cold. I will always regret being apart of this.
