What is a great "poor person" hobby?

You don't necessarily need a good location to hike. This is one of the activities that I've grown to enjoy the most over the years.

To me, hiking is about exploring and adventuring. You can go on hikes through the city, neighborhood, parks, etc.. I think you'll be amazed at what is around you in the world that you never knew about.

Additionally, if you want to advance the hobby you can purchase a hammock and make it a goal to find secluded, proper distance trees and find new 'spots' to hang. Read a book in interesting locations or cool paces you find, or (don't support graffitti) but you can mark a little symbol at every cool place you explore, like in sharpie or something.

Tl;DR - hiking isn't so much about having a scenic, populated trail to me (and others),but more so an individual adventure with its own rewards.
