Just to clarify what I am sure u/RomanCurian means but they are not allowed to administer the sacraments, celebrate mass, or do any priestly function for life. Assuming they repent, they can still receive the sacraments from a priest. That is, they are not excommunicated for life.

There is also a possibility of jail time. Offenders would be turned over. That being said, as we have discussed in other threads, chances are there are only a few holdout offenders left. There are easier ways with less scrutiny to get unsupervised access to children these days thanks to the industrialization of sex trafficking. An evil we really ought to focus a bit more on fighting imo.
