What if we removed Moreton Island?

I live in the city. The bastards are literally in my spa… (I don’t have a lawn, it’s my equivalent). Jokes aside, I worked in hospitality for 13 years and traveled a ton. I also thought the same - Brisbane would be great with a beach that isn’t too far of a trek. I can get from the city to a decent beach in 35-45min though. Which is about how long it took me to get to a beach when I lived on the outskirts of Sydney - if I was lucky. There is a ton of construction around me but I wfh and also have a motorbike, so traffic is not an issue for me. I can sleep through anything and I don’t have a housing market issue either. But at the same time - I like Brisbane for what it is. Mt Glorious is minutes away or head to My Mee, maybe Melaney, might hook up to Noosa or swing by Mt Tambourine or just hit GC. Brisbane is fairly central and sure Manly / Cleveland / Redcliff etc is a bit disappointing - it’s not worth it.

It’s never gonna happen and honestly, I am over the hospitality scene. I still like the city life but I am enjoying it when it is quiet. Maaayn - I remember covid ghost town quiet. I actually miss that shit. Good times…
