What invention has done more harm than good?

Yes. I think Twitter has changed society for the worse. So has Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, and even Amazon reviews.

You see, I personally believe the movie Incredibles 2 was a cautionary tale. They made the villain’s plot of mind-control uncharacteristically modern and specific for a Disney movie. All stories have to be relatable, sure, but there was something about the Screenslaver and that seemed too plausible, ya know, especially for a Disney movie. I hope I’m wrong, of course, but it created a vigilance in me. I’m always looking for how they can be controlling us thru TV’s and cellphones and it has to be social media, right? But how?

This is the best answer I got:

The most common behavioral pattern all social media “controls” us to do is formulate an opinion to LIKE or DISLIKE something. This means nothing for the people who already have this mindset.

But it recruits people who don’t have this mindset to create it by filtering everything your consciousness interacts with thru your personal opinions. Then you share this part of your mind with the rest of the world.

It may seem minor now, but who knows where it could lead. It’s only just begun.
