The game is in alpha. What you build now will be more than enough to run DayZ both now and in the final version.

I have friends who play DayZ on everything from laptops to high end builds.

I personally run FX 9590, 32GB RAM @ 2400Mhz, EVGA GTX 780 6GB, 1920x1080 @ 120Hz.

It doesn't matter if I run DayZ on the lowest settings or the highest I get the same fps because it is still in alpha (2200 hours in DayZ and I am playing it right now).

Every other game (final product not alpha) I can run ultra everything @ 1920x1080 with 60fps+ constant. MGS V, GTA V, FarCry 4, AC Unity, BF4, The Witcher 3 just for some examples.

Check out AMD. They're A LOT cheaper and they can run games just as good as Intel can for usually half the price or more within the product category.

AMD FX 6300 - A friend of mine runs this cpu and gets the same performance as I do in the same games. (Library share through steam)

AMD FX 8350 - I know a bunch of people with this cpu and they get the same performance as well.

AMD FX 9590 - Runs hot (obviously) but it is a beast. I have yet to have any issues running any of my 350+ games on ultra everything, 1920x1080, 120Hz, 60fps+ on everything (except alpha titles for obvious alpha reasons).

When it comes to modern games your GPU is what really matters. You want a GPU with a good/high base clock speed. That is what matters most and I have yet to see someone tell you this because they're too busy boasting about Intel.

Everyone here will only suggest Intel because they are bias and just have to have the best for bragging rights. If all you want to do is game then AMD is the way to go regardless of your budget.
