buying a laptop comes down to this:
performance,weight/size,battery life,quality,cost
the more you pick, the more it will cost.
take for example the surface book i bought for college a few years ago:
8gb of ram, 128gb ssd, generic i5 for w/e generation was current at the time,3000x2000 resolution screen, a nicer touch pad/keyboard. i can run word, excel, youtube, generic usage things for 13-14 hours.
for the same price at the time, i could've had a laptop with 16gb of ram, a larger ssd, a gpu, a 1080p screen. except, it would've had a 2-3 hour battery life, weighed 3x as much, and been 2-3 times thicker. but the touch pad wouldnt have been as nice, and the keyboards usually dont feel as nice.
if you want a gaming laptop that is also thin and a larger batter, that adds to the price greatly.
