What is it like being in your 20s in the UK these days?

A lot of austerity and hopelessness. I’m 23 and basically was forced to accept a job that I don’t really have an interest in and don’t see myself having a career in because of the state of the graduate job market. I now want to leave but it’s going to be hard with the upcoming recession.

One of the worst things I’m going through is having to accept not being able to pursue the career I want due to a shortage within the job market. Then add job automation in the future on top of it. One thing I’m having difficulty navigating is working out how long I should stay in this job for, as I don’t want to be pigeonholed into it and not have enough relevant experience for other jobs that I wish to pursue
