How many of you don't have a driving license?

I'm 30 and I don't have a licence.

I had to move countries when I was 16. Because I had to support myself, I found a room where the house owner said I could work off my rent by working at his storage facility 3 days a week while I was in college the other 3. He also made it a stipulation that I had to learn to drive at 17 because all his other kids had. He was like a father figure as well as a boss, and when I turned 17, I started my lessons. He told me I had to practice with him before work days, which meant getting up at 3am to go drive around a car park for an hour, then drive to work to start at 5am and finish between 5 and 8pm (depending on his mood)

Later on this man showed more signs of control freak issues (wasn't allowed on Facebook, wasn't allowed to hang out with my friends after college or weekends) and then one night he ended up sexually assaulting me, and telling me that either I put up with it or I would lose my accommodation and job.

I put up with it for a month (amount other horrible things I won't talk about) until one night he threatened to beat 7 shades of shit outta me, so I packed my suitcase that very night and left.

To this day I have tried to do my lessons and pass but it reminds me so much of that time that I get anxious and I struggle. I'm trying again this year in the hopes I can get past it.

I also made a point of living in walking distance to work and the shops so I do not need to rely on anyone for lifts, even though of course sometimes I do get lifts which I appreciate greatly.

My point is, you don't know everyone's reasons of why they don't drive, and it's poor behaviour to judge without context.
