How has the trend towards a cashless society affected homeless people?

I thought about this as well. I heard that many have gotten more desperate resulting in an increase in crime and antisocial behaviour.

Looking at these comments Reddit predictably is ignoring the issue because they don't want to hear the uncomfortable reality that cashless is screwing over marginalised groups because it's convenient and technology is good.

in 2021 I told my friend I'd rather not patronise this new LGBT bar that was cashless and gave my reasons why I was against it (some patrons need anonymity for their safety, some are sex workers who get paid in cash, some LGBT have no fixed address i.e no bank account). She didn't really care but accepted my stance.

Fast forward to 2023 and she has this friend who is a refugee. Been thinking whether to say I told you so to my friend by pointing out that she has to pay her entry fee and buy her drinks every time she goes out because she has no bank account. Don't see the point though, most people just don't care. All they care about is what is easiest for themselves.
