Have you ever had to fire a tradesperson?

Story time, kinda similar circumstance.

I’d been having my haircut at the same barbershop, seeing the same barber for a good few years in the town centre. This one morning I was the only customer in the shop and my barber was there waiting for me and I noticed he looks really angry.

He starts telling me that the owner of the shop had been subletting his chair out on days when he wasn’t working and the person using his seat had been using all of his equipment and had left it in a mess, some things were missing etc etc.

I sit down in the seat and start getting my haircut. He is halfway through when the owner of the shop walks in and my barber starts to confront him about what’s going on and telling him he’s taking the piss, eventually turn into a slanging match, calling him a dickhead, which turns into the owner goading the barber to hit him or “do something”. They get right up in each others faces as I’m sat with half a haircut watching this all unfold right behind me in the mirror.

Owner then tells my barber to get out of the shop and never come back. He lets him finish my haircut (thank god) and I leave. Fast forward and he’s been a mobile barber for a few years and is happier than ever and he never went back to the shop again.
