Back in college, I really wanted to fit in. I had a friend, who was nice and part of a cool friend group. Well, there was a football game on campus and I was hoping to go with her/them, but she never invited me (I was silly/immature and never reached out, so that’s my fault). The next day, I didn’t talk to her, but I felt so bad about not talking, I owned up to what I did and apologized via text. She texted back saying the nastiest things to me, most of which were digs about my character (she said I was a terrible friend and she always has to pick up my slack because I behave like a child) which seemingly came out nowhere. I cried during class when I read her message. I tried apologizing/reaching out again a few days later and she never answered. Luckily she moved, so I never heard from her again.
