What is a major flaw in the education system (US)?

The idea that you absolutely have to go to college to be successful in life and if you don't get in to a college right out of high school you're failing at life. I worked my ass off to get into a school right out of high school because I had that ingrained into my head by my teachers and counselors only to find out sometime later it wasn't for me and to do what I really wanted to do I didn't even need college, of course by the time I figured that out I had already racked up significant college debt I now have pay back. If you're not sure take some time to think about what you want to pursue. In the meantime time just get a job and make some money while you're figuring shit out. There's no rush.
