I'm a bit late to the thread and this just happened today, but here goes nothing.

So I've been on a vacation at St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands for a while, and our vacation is starting to come to an end. It was a bit late, probably around seven, and we're walking down some alley; looking for something to eat and somewhere to buy souvenirs. For some perspective here, lots of the Virgin Islands are severely underdeveloped, and this was one of those places.

The alley was pretty empty, only us and and a few people sitting on the sidewalks were in it. Then, the silhouette of a man approaches, limping towards us slowly and painfully. I soon got a better view of the wretched man.

The first thing I noticed was the mumbling. I had repeatedly heard his soft, raspy voice mumbling some phrase in a foreign language. Then I noticed his eyes. He had milky eyes, with immense pupils that had streaks of red running towards his eyelids in jagged zig-zags. I wondered if he had a drug problem or if it was just because it was dark out and he was tired. Next I found the source of his slow and painful walking. The man, who must've been at least in his 60's or 70's had crutches. My eyes dwadled downwards and I stared, aghast at what I had found.
