What is the nicest thing a police officer has done for you?

I'm not from the US, but live here. My only experience where a cop stopped me, I was driving through Dallas with a co-worker. We were, for some damn reason or other, trying to get to a Hobby Lobby for a certain time. I picked up from the recommended 40 to 55 just as I passed this cop car. I saw his lights go on as I went past, and him pull right out behind me. I knew I was busted, and I was pretty embarrassed because my co-worker was riding with me. I slowed the heck down, pulled into the first side street and parked carefully. I pulled down my window and put my hands at 10 to 2 on the wheel, as an old roommate told me to do in such a situation. He came out of the car. "Good afternoon officer, how can I help you?" He was grinning a very smiley, pleasant grin. "Afternoon sir, you were going a little fast back there, you know that right?" "Yes sir." "Can I see your driver's license so I can check if you have any prior speeding convictions or tickets, and then we can get you on your way." Didn't even ask for my insurance or registration. Saw that I had no record. Actually waved me goodbye. I'd go for a drink with that guy.
