What has no right to exist in the UK in 2021, but still does?

I'm guessing warehouse, manufacturing etc?

You're also forgetting about a huge number of essential jobs that require people to work weekends, healthcare for example.

My point is that why shouldn't shift workers work Sundays? If you work at the weekend you get time off during the week, which is objectively better since it's less busy than Saturdays and shops are actually open unlike Sundays. Just because it's Sunday doesn't suddenly make it a bad day to work.

It's also not like people working Sundays will work every Sunday - that's sort of the point of shift work.

Really? If shops shut at 5 midweek, sure, I could go along with that, but they're literally open Monday 00:00 all the way through to Saturday 22:00.

Post Offices do, and I don't know where you are but no shops near me is open that early or late. Regardless, the last thing I ever want to do is do my weekly shop after work, it would be much more convinient to do it on Sunday.

It is literally so easy to shop either groceries or otherwise, without even needing to leave your house, that getting rid of Sunday Trading just seems like wanton erosion of worker quality of life.

There's obviously more to it than just getting your food shop, and I think you know that - also, try getting a delivery slot these days.

Overall I feel you're missing the point, it's a needless law that only causes inconviniences and kills a huge opportunity for business for a significant proportion of the weekend. Retail workers already work Saturdays, why can't they work Sundays like everyone else doing shift work?
