What opinion in Philippines will have you like this? (Try to not make it religious or political please)

most destructive colonizer of the country.

You haven't read most books regarding American occupation, have you? We gained a lot with the Americans (ex. modernization) but we lost a lot too (ex. obsession with standardization meant the destruction of multicultural identity in the name of homogeneous "standard" identity). And a lot of our destructive attitudes can be traced back to their influence (esp. learned helplessness).

The Spanish was shit but they assimilated with us. They even took some of our culture to Latin America and Europe (ex. alampay to Manton de Manila, payneta (from Chinese hairpins) to peineta, barong tagalog to guayabera, etc.)

American occupation did not assimilate. They pushed their Americanisms down our throats and call it "nation-building". And given the ..uh... criticisms of American Imperialism, their "nation-building" is set to their best interests and advantage, not ours. Plus it was a time during the American-Spanish war, so they have every agenda to destroy the Spanish reputation from our historical perspective.

I know my last post history is about Spanish influence in the country. I'm not defending them in this reply, I'm only concurring with your claim that Spain did the most damage because I point my finger at the other colonizer on that accusation (despite also benefiting a lot from them... in exchange for "interests"). Spain did damaged, just not the most long-term psychological damage.
