What opinion of yours makes you an asshole?

I'm starting to become anti-library the more I work in them. I think the general intent behind them is a good thing, but around here they are so mucked up with petty politics and borderline discriminatory attitudes towards anyone who's different. The last two that I've worked in have clearly just been providing classist, selfish older women with a paycheck while they do nothing to give the community what it needs - refusing to invest in technology, programs, or practices, and crying that they shouldn't have to because of their seniority. Then, they have the nerve to tell me I'm the problem with society when I actively push for the things we need, because god forbid they should have to learn how to operate a computer/printer.

I do think early reading literacy programs for kids are important, among other things, but around here the libraries and their employees don't even bother to invest in these programs, and I can understand why some people feel they are a waste of tax payer dollars.

With that said, there are some good ones out there that do the right things and hire employees from all ages/genders... they just aren't typical around here I guess, and it's infuriating.
