What screams "I'm poor but pretend I'm rich"?

Yup. Had a friend who was a high school gf of a guy who robbed a 7-11 at age 19. Got caught. Spent 10 years in jail. Out at age 29 and he entire formative years were spent behind bars, not learning how to properly be an adult. At age 30 he basically had the mindset of a 20 year old.

Couple that with basically a complete inability to get work. Noone hires ex cons. They just don't. He could get sporadic work moving furniture because he was able to use someone else's SSN to get hired. You won't see that guy in a cubicle probably ever. They're broken up now so I don't know what he's up to these days but he developed a pretty bad drug problem (after being clean in jail).
