What situation are you prepping for?

Prepping for "anything and everything" is going to be very difficult for a lot of people. Yes anything can happen, but people will normally prep for some scenarios they're most likely to encounter based on their location, finances and resources.

For most of the economic, social or war apocalyptic events, few people will be able store enough food, water, weapons etc to survive long term under those circumstances. Yes some will, most won't. And there will likely be a number of unexpected threats people just didn't anticipate. How can you anticipate "everything"?

Location will be important for people who expect to be self sufficient for 20 years or more after a total government and society collapse. Land will be needed to grow food.

Many people are working to support their families and can't afford to buy a good chunk of land away from any cities and start stocking it with survival equipment and supplies that will last them for years. Nor do they have the time. They're working full time. How can they be expected to prep for anything and everything? It's not realistic for most people.

This is why the majority of people prep for the scenarios they are most likely to encounter. Yes I know, anything can happen. Which is why I would never criticize anyone about their reasons for prepping. But sometimes I see that in the Preppers sub.
