What is something that someone showed you that completely changed your perspective of them ?

My fiancee has known his best friend and his wife since they were in high school. Best friend and wife married young when they got pregnant and I've never been around the best friend without his wife. I met them when my fiancee was 30 and I was 25, I honestly have never been a fan of best friend's wife but just kind of lumped him in with her. She's very not humble which bothers me greatly(not sure how to say but she talks about how much she makes a lot and treats others who don't make as much very shitty) and my fiancee says she's really flipped attitude wise since they were younger.

On a camping trip I needed to run to the store and my fiancees best friend offered a ride since his wife needed cigarettes. Round trip drive was maybe 1.5 hours and in that time he completely changed. Leaving camp he had fun music, made jokes, talked about hobbies and got my fiancee a birthday present. I felt bad afterwards that I judged him off of his wife but he's actually a nice person. I feel bad now though because wow, I never noticed how much someone can change another person demeanor so fast.
