If god is real, he put us on Earth with logical freedom as a testing ground before the real life with him. Some people made farms and food and don't need charity. Other people sit about in mud and their own shit, starving to death, and should find themselves some food or they will need charity. he's hardly going to create them in this shit and then immediately reach down and help them.

If he does exist, why would he reveal himself and save all the suffering? That would remove the point of this testing ground. If he's real then where we are now is just a virtual computer game and suffering isn't real. Everyone who suffered and died would now be living their real lives with god, laughing at the silly virtual reality game he made them play.

If he's real but doesn't help people, he isn't a heartless arsehole because he clearly created the universe, gave you life, consciousness and gave you freedom, he will give you an eternal afterlife despite fake, virtual suffering he temporarily put you through. If he did help people then he would be reveal himself which removes freedom which is pointless.
