What will the world be like in 2030?

In 2030...

Life at home BabyBoomers | Generation X | Millennials ---------|----------|---------- 65 - 85 | 45 - 65 | 25 - 45

The baby boomers by then will be retired! But unfortunately a huge percentage of them havn't saved enough money for retirement. Generation X is well placed by making the advancements to their baby boomers's senior jobs. But unfortunately for the millennials, they will suffer from the hardest effects of the "Greatest Retirement Crisis in History". The millennials will have their parents living at home with them in the basement, and will have to allocate a portion of their hard earned money to pay for their parents.

Workplace Jobs will become more and more scares. Full time permanent jobs will be more scarce and scarce. Yet the average level of education will be at its highest and the pay will be at its lowest. The millennials were suppose to be the drivers of change, but will prove to be the most fucked over generation in modern history. With the unfortunate burden of having to clean up on the baby boomers day after hangover, a huge amount of debt from staying in post-secondary school for 3+ years and the shit end of the stick when it comes to jobs. Generation X will do well, having been born right in the perfect spot to take a good career before.

Environment and City Structure We are still trying to convince people that climate change is real sadly. Seeing how this hasn't changed much in the last 15 years, and countries such as Canada have only taken steps backwards. Although countries havn't really changed stance in 30 years, people are starting to take a stance. Building/moving into micro homes, with solar panels, and battery setups. It allows these people to live off the grid, with a house that cost them less the $50,000 to build. This allows them to live more debt free and have more disposable income. Suburbs become more and more empty, and become more and more ghetto like. People opt to move closer to work where walking and biking are available options to get to work.

Technology Technology will be fully immersed in everything. Cheap, and abundant, this ties in with jobs. Automation will be abundant, taking over many many jobs and machine learning will be everywhere. - Cars : If you can imagine that google has streetviewed nearly every road, every automated car on the road will have distance capturing lidar. And every car will be connected to a network with servers, collecting trillions of data points. With every car trying on a street it refines and updates the 3d point cloud corridor of the street. - Virtual Reality: The virtual reality we know of today is only the most simplistic version of whats to come. We can already tap into the human the brain, attach it to a camera and send some forms of very very basic visual information, where a blind person can see. But this will be so much more advanced and backwards, that the human eye will be the screen to your supercomputer. You will be able to close your eyes and literally watch the most high definition movie that your eyes can biologically define. Or lay in bed, go to the point cloud of google street view and you will non-physically walk the most updated streets of your neighborhood, without actually being there. It will be soo profound that 'virtual reliability' and 'reality' will get confused. When today geolocated points with information tied to them such as https://www.google.ca/maps/place/Google+San+Francisco/@37.7913755,-122.3865616,16z/data=!3m1!5s0x80858070088e2001:0xab3e3f9f13271564!4m5!1m2!2m1!1sgoogle!3m1!1s0x0000000000000000:0xf5a373d09072e1ac in 2030 will look like a hologram floating when you are near it. Your brain will always be connected to the google virtual street view point cloud data. And points of information will be visible.
