What is the worst case of nepotism you've ever witnessed?

I quit my job because my boss was already cutting my hours. My last day was a few days before thanksgiving. I gave them three weeks notice.

This was an interim job, because I was laid off a few months prior. I felt that after everything I had been through, I wanted to give myself Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving weekend, and have a nice break with my family, so I can start my new job and finally put the bullshit behind me.

In that time, the manager was trying to be all nice to me. I suspected he was up to some bullshit, and it was confirmed when he casually was making the schedule and he was like "so you're working thanksgiving, right???"

The other two people on schedule were dating. They were good friends with the manager. The couple was 19 and 20 years old. I realized this manager was trying to be cool with me because he didn't want to give that shift to the two ~lovers~ and ruin their holiday.

I calmly explained to him again, my last day is X, and on thanksgiving I will not be an employee here any longer. I will be off the book. I will be removed from payroll.

Over the next week or so he kept being all like :( please? :( I'll be a good reference :( but we're going to be so short staffffffed :(

He actually did schedule me on Thanksgiving, too. I didn't show up.
