What would you do if a mandatory vaccine came out? Would you take it or suffer the consequences?

Out of principal if they Forced me to take it I probably wouldn’t. And before all you sanctimonious tools pile on calling me anti vaxx. I’m not. I’m in the medical field. I know more about drugs, disease and vaccines than most of you. I’ve taken about 10 vaccines for foreign travel in the past 6 years. So I’m not anti vaxx. However, the fact that these trials are all rushed is concerning.

I’ve seen plenty of “safe” drugs withdrawn from the market years after they been handed out in their millions. I accept that this doesn’t happen with vaccines like it does with drugs, due to the nature of vaccines, but it’s not impossible- look up the withdrawn lymes disease vaccine controversy. The main concern I have with the vaccine is what immune response a dodgy rushed one could evoke upon subsequent exposure to the wild, possibly mutated virual antigen. I’m Not concerned with what’s in the vaccine, as many of the anti vaxx people are.

There’s a corona virus in cats called FIP that they keep trying to get a vaccine for. But every time test trial the vaccines the antigen evokes the same detrimental immune response that the wild virus itself causes in the first place.

We don’t understand the immune system. We don’t understand Coronaviruses. And coronaviruses cause bizarre immune responses. So we really aren’t in a great spot. These abnormal immune responses are seen in the disease profile itself -when it cause Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome- ARDS.

I’m not gonna pretend I’m an expert by any means but aberrant immune responses related to second exposure is something to worry about with the virus itself and also any vaccines for it. We still don’t know all the organs it attacks and how. They’re finding out new shit every day. So it’s not a good idea to inject everyone with viral antigens when we don’t know what the fuck we’re doing.

But that’s not why I wouldn’t take it. The odds of a vaccine being harmful are slim. It’s more out of principal.

In the past actual principled liberals and those on the left would have supported this stance. But not anymore. For some reason their logic doesn’t apply to vaccines. They say (and I agree) that the government shouldn’t be able to tell people who to marry. Who to have sex with. We should be free from the government telling us we can’t get an abortion or take drugs. But we must let the government forcibly inject people? Bizarre logic.

I’ll just add that people are getting their hopes up. 95% of vaccine trials fail and that No vaccine has ever been developed in 1 year time frame or less as covid is forcing us to do. Also they have never developed a coronavirus vaccine as far as I recall. I know of no commercially available ones in the UK/Ireland from my field of work in animal diseases.
