What was your breaking point, where you snapped and went off on a rude ass customer?

I used to work for a bank as a teller. My branch was in a lovely, small town. I knew all of the customers by name and about 95% of the people who came in were genuinely nice people. I was asked to cover some shift at a downtown branch for a week while some tellers were on vacation. I agreed because I wanted/needed the extra hours. At this point I had only been with the bank for about 3-4 months.

Staff at the downtown branch were nice enough. Some were helpful, some were not but it's a very busy branch so that's understandable. And anyone who works at a bank will tell you that they give you a basic training and then you're on your own. Still, I learned quickly, was confident, so a lot of people assumed I had been with the bank longer than I had.

The customers at this branch were totally different from what I was used to. Some were nice, many were curt, others were outright demanding. Lots of lawyer accounts, and homeless people.

One day I'm finishing up with a customer and I notice an absolutely disgusting man next in line. If he was a cartoon he would have stink lines and flies drawn around him. And he's drunk. I look around and all of the other tellers have slowed down to a snail's pace. I brace myself as he walks up the the counter and he absolutely reeks. I was overcome with disgust and pity all at once. He begins to speak and he's slurring his words. (Please note: I try not to judge people but I'm human and it happens)

I notice his hands are all cut up and leaking through band aids. Not blood. The clearish liquid when the blood stops (sorry not a doctor obviously). He wants a roll of quarters. He puts the money on the counter and turns around, so I knock it onto my desk with a pen when he's not looking, and leave to get the quarters. Well because this branch was so busy and I don't have access to everything since I'm only helping out, it took forever to get this damn roll of quarters. In the meantime I see a lot of the male financial service reps coming out of their office. I finally get the quarters and head back to my till.

As a side note, I'm about 5'4, dress fairly feminine but still professional, and even though I'm quite bossy and demanding, I try to keep that in check. I'm also very shy around new people so they assume I'm meek and weak. As I head over to my till, two financial services reps follow me without a word, one on each side. so now I'm thinking, "Fuck does this guy have a history here?". I get to my till and homeless guy has decided to remove all of his bandaids and spread them over my counter. Leaking fluid and all. As a germaphobe you can not imagine the rage and disgust that filled me when I saw this.

I looked homeless man dead in the eye, and in a low but firm, scolding tone I say, "Excuse me but what exactly do you think you're doing?!" He looks up at me in shock. Obviously he has never been called out on his behavior before. "You can not remove bandaids and spread them all over the counter, that is disgusting and rude."

Homeless man begins gathering up the bandaids and says, "Where do I put them?"

"In the trash bin outside the door on your way out." I shoot back, still speaking in a firm voice.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." he stammers as I place the roll of quarters in front of him.

"Fine, but don't do it again."

"No I won't I'm sorry." He picks up the quarters in one hand, his bandaids in the other and walks out. I watch him walk out and as I turn back the ENTIRE branch is silent and everyone is looking at me. I turn back to the two financial reps who are staring at me in shock, but I don't care. I look at them both, put my hands up and say, "I'm done. I'm not cleaning that.". And I walked out to the lunch room.

In a few minutes the assistant manager walks in with a smirk. She tells me she heard about what happened. I nod. "So I guess I'm in trouble." I say... "No I just wanted to say that Mary (branch manager) and I am glad that you stood up to him. No one ever has. I nod again. Then she tells me the financial reps already disinfected the hell out of my counter when I want to go back. So I say thank and return to work.

TLDR Tell a guy off for being disgusting.
