What was your family secret that you found out?

Found out my grandfather's brother is married to his 2nd cousin. They didn't know they were related initially, but once they found out, they didn't stop dating. From what my mom told me, none of the family went to the wedding and everyone was adamantly against it in the begging of their relationship/marriage. However, over the years it seems everyone just came to terms with it and just never spoke of it. Growing up, I had absolutely no idea, but it really just is a tragic situation as they had three daughters, one of which has very severe mental disabilities. Their other daughters were born healthy, however one of them went on to have a son who suffers from disabilities similar to his aunt. To this day I have no idea if any of the children know their parents are related.
