Really? I'm Indian and visited Christchurch when I was 15. Didn't really notice it (no doubt it happens, though).

The closest to racism I experienced in NZ were both in Auckland. Once, while I was in a car, some girls looked over from the car beside us, said something to each each other, looked behind them (at presumably another car with Indian people) and then said loudly "We're surrounded!". Also at that Aquarium place, the guy who was taking the photos that awkwardly shop you into a sharks mouth looked at us and said what I think was in what he probably thought was a brown people accent "Poto Poto!" while waving the camera at us.

Nothing major but still wtf.
