NOTE: I HAVE NOT PLAYED THIS GAME YET, NOR HAVE I LOOKED INTO THE STORY OR ANY VIDEOS 20X6 is a valid year for Federation Force to take place in. It simply means that Federation Force takes place in 20X6, ~8 years after Metroid Prime. (20X8, 3 years after Zero Mission) Assume the phazon war took ~5 years, then just add that then "several years" until you hit 20X6.

Basically, it can take place between Corruption and Metroid 2 by looking at the years alone. And if no Metroids are present in Fed Force then that's no problem. Why? Hunters had no Metroids either. Do we even know WHEN Samus was issued the order to exterminate all Metroids? No? Then 20X6 is no problem. And even if there was 20+ years between Fed Force and Metroid you could explain Samus' youthful appearance in Other M as simply: Bird Magic DNA
